Description: This 1983 Porsche 911 SC Cabriolet is finished in Guards Red over a black full leather interior and currently shows 17,066 miles. Produced on 06/06/1983 for the U.S. market, it comes from the first model year of the 911 Cabriolet and was originally delivered through Jack Daniels Porsche Audi in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Power comes from a fuel-injected 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and factory limited-slip differential. Factory equipment includes 16-inch Fuchs wheels, an elevated-hub sport steering wheel, cruise control, alarm system, fog lights, air conditioning, power windows, and a top-tinted windshield. The car retains a well-preserved presentation with a black convertible top and black leather interior. It is currently fitted with a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB radio, while the original specification included a Blaupunkt Monterey cassette radio. A major engine service was completed around the end of 2021 and beginning of 2022 after a broken cylinder head stud was discovered. The engine was removed and the top end rebuilt with new head studs, refurbished cylinder heads, a valve job, new gaskets and rocker seals, and a pressure-fed timing chain tensioner upgrade. A rebuilt warm-up regulator and spark plugs were also installed, while the clutch assembly and flywheel were replaced at the same time. The work was recorded at 16,013 indicated miles. The car is accompanied by an extensive collection of service records and documentation, along with factory literature, a Porsche Classic tool kit, jack, spare tire, tire carrying bag, and convertible top boot cover. The mechanical odometer currently displays 17,066 miles. Records indicate that the original odometer was replaced in 05/2007 at 15,517 miles and the replacement unit began again at zero, so total chassis mileage is considered unknown. With its classic Guards Red over black color combination, strong documentation, and substantial recent mechanical work, this first-year 911 SC Cabriolet presents as a particularly complete example.
