Description: The BMW Z8 got its heart from the E39 M5: the same 4.9 litre V8, the same six-speed Getrag manual gearbox. What the Z8 did not get was the M5's limited-slip differential, a deliberate choice by BMW to keep the character looser. The chassis is a fully aluminium space frame, something no other BMW of that period had, with a weight distribution of exactly 50:50. James Bond drove one in The World is Not Enough in 1999, before the production car had even reached the market. This example stayed within a select number of hands throughout its life: a Dutch first owner from 2003, followed by two German owners, the current one having owned the car since 2009.
